How much are your courses?

How can I pay?

You can pay by bank transfer, or it is also possible to pay via credit card in person or over the phone.

How can I get a visa?

When we have booked your course, we will then send out a booking confirmation and request a deposit payment of £500. When we have received the deposit payment, we will then issue visa support documentation which you can take with you to your visa appointment.

How many weeks must I study?

The minimum course duration is 1 week, and there is no maximum length.

What date will my course begin?

You can start most courses in any week of the year.

What day can I start the course on?

All of our courses begin on a Monday and finish on a Friday. Closed Groups, please enquire.

What dates are exams?

IELTS Courses are run regularly – please contact us for details.

Does the school close on public holidays?

We close for 2 weeks over Christmas, but English in York is open on all other public holidays throughout the year.

What day can I arrive at my Homestay?

We normally advise that students try to arrive at their Homestays the weekend before their course begins, however we can be flexible if we have enough notice.

What’s the closest airport?

The closest airport to York is Leeds/Bradford airport, however Manchester International airport is also very close, has multiple flight connections and has easier transport links to York.

Can you arrange taxi transfers?

We can arrange taxi transfers to and from the airport. The price for a transfer from Leeds/Bradford is £85 (each way) and from Manchester International is £160 (each way).

What’s the minimum age you accept students?

We are an adult only school, and the minimum age is 16 years old (with parental consent).

Do you accept beginners?

We do not accept beginners on our group courses, we accept students from Elementary upwards. Any student with a beginner level of English would need to take a one-to-one course.
